Universo Morente is a place to meet and discuss the fascinating work left to us by Enrique Morente.  From its inception, the project has benefitted from the passionate support and involvement of the Morente–Carbonell family. His wife Aurora Carbonell and their children, Estrella, Soleá and José Enrique, have made available to the visiting public all the books, works, notes and documentation they have about Enrique Morente, a true Maestro of Flamenco. 

The Universo Morente exhibition is organized around the central theme of his recordings. Guided by his words and the chronological sequence of his albums, we embark on a journey that mixes music and images, leaving the task of reconstructing “his story” to the spectator and revealing a constellation of friends and collaborators. As one might expect, this exhibition is above all about sound. Everything has been constructed around Morente’s music.

The Universo Morente ends with a trip through the artistic references that appear in his work, with such well-known artists as Goya, Picasso, Dali and Calder as well as his continual incursions into poetry by Lorca, Miguel Hernández, Al-Mutamid and San Juan de la Cruz.

There is an annex to the exhibition at the Musical Documentation Centre of Andalusia, where specialized bibliography about Enrique Morente can be consulted in books and on tablets with a large proportion of his art and music, discography and interviews. Different audiovisual productions will also be shown in the film room, so completing our vision of the Universo Morente.
