The space has been fitted out for cultural functions as a reading area and a space for playing music. The aim is to offer a friendly environment in which people can come together to meet and share music and words. These activities will function alongside and independently of the general visit to the Alhambra and will be open to the general public. Admission will be free until all seats are taken.
Anyone with the sufficient musical ability and confidence to play in public may apply to use these facilities.
Once you have sent this application to play music in the Tower, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from the Council of the Alhambra approving your application (when applicable) and indicating the allotted time for you to use the space. In this case you may use the facilities, musical instruments (upright piano) and sheet music in the Music Box library.
Those whose applications to play in the Tower are accepted must follow the instructions given by the people responsible for the space at all times regarding the use of the facilities, times, etc.
Those performing in the Tower will not be entitled to economic remuneration of any kind.
The music to be played will belong to the “classical” repertoire in the widest sense of the word. The instruments played in the Tower will always be acoustic instruments (both the upright piano provided in the space and any instruments brought by the performers themselves, such as guitars, symphonic instruments, etc.) without the support of electrical amplification.
Each performer will have a playing time of 15 minutes. This time may be extended if there are no other requests to play and if the person responsible authorizes it.
The Council of the Alhambra will not be responsible for the use that third parties may make of any images and/or recordings they make of the applicants’ performance.
Eating and drinking are not permitted inside the Tower.
By sending this application, you accept that you know and agree to abide by these rules of use.
The Council of the Alhambra and Generalife reserves the right to reject those requests that do not meet the criteria established by the institution for the use of this space for cultural purposes.
