The catalogue for this exhibition held simultaneously at the Spanish National Library and the National Museum of Romanticism from 20th February to 18th May 2014 describes the beginning of tourism in Spain.

After an introductory chapter entitled: "Art and tourism, from the construction of the romantic myth to the propaganda image of Spain", the exhibition project takes us from the 19th century travellers to the first institutional initiatives, such as the Royal Commission of Tourism and the National Tourism Board with the associated development of specific infrastructure and publications such as guides, maps, posters etc.
The book also has a pleasant guidebook-like format. Its attractive illustrations and interesting texts allow us to travel back to this moment in our history.
