The Origin and Use of Music in Muslim Spain

In this presentation we will be explaining how Arabic music reached Al-Andalus and analysing an absolutely vital figure in this process, "Ali ibn Nafi", better known as Ziryab.
The evolution and development (muwassahas and zejeles) the nawba or nuba Oriental Classical music, the presence of singers and dancers.
Also how music was used in court and for therapeutic purposes.
We will be reviewing the different musical instruments used and which are represented in modern pieces and the mark that Hispano-Muslim music left on Christian music.
Even after the expulsion of the Hispano-Muslims from Spain, their music remained. We will be reviewing music in the Morisco period of the Kingdom of Granada
