Essential  for the upkeep of the Alhambra, this conservation shop undertakes the analysis and restoration of most of the masonry and building materials used in the construction work done to the Monument over the years. 

Frequently it is necessary to work on marble, sandstone and brick pieces, as well as historical-artistic mortar works; however, the activities of the shop mainly focus on preventive conservation.

The conservation and restoration activities of the shop mainly involve the following technique-based operations:

• Conservation of the materials in their relationship to the environment
• Application of the adequate restoration techniques
• Insulation and impermeabilizing of masonry
• Design of new fixing and anchorage systems
