The St Mary Church of the Alhambra is one of the sites along the Royal Road that is particularly noteworthy. Construction of the church, on a plot of land where the Main Mosque once stood, was completed in the 17th century. Also worth mentioning is the partially preserved bath in the house where the composer Ángel Barrios was born and lived. The site is now a museum dedicated to the man who is considered to be the prominent figure among intellectuals in the 1930s.
