Once upon a time the Alhambra. Alhambra de Granada

This tour approaches us the idea of the Alhambra as a city that represents another culture and another form to understand life.

Once upon a time the Alhambra. Teaching tour by the Palaces

Presentation of the proposal

This proposal tries to approach the students to the idea of the Alhambra as a city that represents another culture and another form to understand life. First, the ruins of the urban Alhambra will be visited: the Medina, where the children will formulate hypotheses on how the cities were at the Arab time as well as, on their urban-planning, social and economic dynamics. Later on, the military district will be visited: the Fortress where it will be deepened on the architectural defensive strategies and will analyse the construction materials, location and relation to its surroundings.

Later on, the Palaces will be visited, where the students will be able to develop their perception skills through the observation of shapes, colours, light, volumes… to analyse the structure and arrangement of the areas of a Muslim house of the time, and to make an approach to the form of life of the time.

Tour: Medina, Fortress, Palace of Comares (Palacio de Comares), Palace of the Lions (Palacio de los Leones).
