La Alhambra oculta

El proyecto “la Alhambra Oculta”  se enmarca Dentro de las iniciativas desarrolladas por el Patronato con el objetivo de diversificar la oferta cultural.

The hidden Alhambra

Virtual access to spaces closed for restoration works

The Alhambra, the city in the hills, is part of a land to be discovered. For this reason, Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife (PAG) has decided to diversify the type of visits on offer, to take pressure off the most popular areas by highlighting others, less well-known but of great cultural and historical interest nevertheless, while protecting their delicate physical conditions. Regulating access to the site guarantees that its exceptional values are preserved for future generations, ensuring a gratifying and worthwhile experience for the visitor.

The Hidden Alhambra project promotes sustainable tourism at the Alhambra, by offering new sources of information and understanding, optimising visit organisation and quality, consolidating the policy of tourist flow management developed by PAG, guaranteeing visitor excellence and maintaining the correct balance between preservation, the conservation of cultural values, tourist management and the cultural and economic management of the monument.

In addition to diversifying the cultural offer, to respond to the demands of different types of public, fragile spaces are also protected, in accordance with the cultural management sustainability strategy included in the Master Plan for the Alhambra and Generalife.

The project, jointly financed by PAG and the World Monuments Fund, makes the most of new multimedia technology to improve the information offered to visitors to the Alhambra, bringing added value to the visit by allowing visitors access to reserved or closed-off areas through their mobile phones and other mobile devices.
