International Museum Day

Two different proposals for Primary and Secondary students once finished the tour around the museum

  International Museum Day

The Council of the Alhambra and the Generalife wants to celebrate the International Museum Day with a teaching proposal for all the students of primary and secondary education.

With this initiative the Council attempts to:

• Promote and appraise the value of the museum as a means for conservation and dissemination of historical heritage.
• Value and respect our cultural heritage, as heritage of the Humanity and a source of learning and enjoyment.
• Understand the Islamic society and its legacy to our present culture.
• Develop observation skills for the knowledge and interpretation of the work of art.
• Stimulate the creative capacity through the contemplation and analysis of the work of art.
• Promote tolerance and respect to other cultures through knowledge.
• This initiative will consist of two proposals:

On May 18, International Museum Day, prizes will be awarded to the winning drawings and stories. For primary as well as for secondary students there will be one winner and two finalists.
