The exhibition is about the method patented by Henry Fox Talbot in 1841 and how it was used to produce some of the earliest photographs ever taken in Spain. These pioneering photographers, for whom the Alhambra was a popular subject, used a procedure known as calotype, which proved lighter and more versatile than the overly rigid daguerreotype. The result was beautiful photographs with a velvety texture developed on paper of exquisite quality.
