The Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation is located on the same hill where the Alhambra stands. It is one of the most peculiar buildings of the Spanish architecture. It was built during the first decades of the 20th century and was declared a National Monument in 1982. It was the studio of the prestigious painter José María Rodríguez-Acosta and contains a unique complex of gardens and a great collection of works, from Ancient pieces to Modernist ones; the visit comprises an astonishing tour, which includes underground caves and galleries.
The Nasrid Palaces are the only areas with restricted access; the entry is limited to the time schedule indicated on your ticket so you should give priority to this visit and be on time for the entry. The Generalife Palace and the Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation have a limited capacity. The access to the Foundation is organized in tours, which take place every thirty minutes and are limited to a maximum of 25 people. The rest of places in the Alhambra are not subject to such restrictions and can be visited either in the morning or in the afternoon depending on the kind of ticket.
It will also be possible to visit the places, which had been designed “space of the month” in the Alhambra if they are included in the tour provided by the ticket.
The estimated time of the visit is 4 hours and 30 minutes (3 hours for the Alhambra, 1 hour and 20 minutes for the Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation, 15 minutes walk between monuments if the visit is carried out on the same day) so we advise you to plan it ahead to make the most of your visit. The visit to the Foundation might be carried out on the same date shown on the ticket or on the following day.
NOTICE: Given the singularity of the Foundation we should inform you that in order to ease the visit, it might be carried out on the same date shown on the ticket or on the following day.
